Project Statement
The challenge is to design a multi-functional headquarters that supports both office staff and showroom visitors, meets the needs of a rapidly growing brand, and adheres to sustainability, WELL, and LEED standards. The space must balance privacy with openness, ensuring that employees can work efficiently, while the retail/showroom areas must present products in a way that reflects the brand’s commitment to body positivity and diversity. Additionally, the design must be compliant with stringent Los Angeles building codes, including seismic, fire, and accessibility regulations, while also fitting the brand identity of extreme minimalism.
Concept Statement
The concept for the Skims headquarters is to create a dynamic, flexible workspace that reflects the brand's core values: inclusivity, innovation, and comfort. By blending modern and extreme minimalist aesthetics with highly functional, adaptable spaces, the headquarters will seamlessly integrate office operations, retail/showroom functions, and collaborative environments, while promoting employee well-being and brand identity.
